Update [9/7/05]: The company I work for, Pearson, just announced that they will match any donations submitted by their employees. So your donation in exchange for a print of the above photo will go twice as far! Here's the message from our CEO Marjorie Scardino:
A disaster fund: We will immediately open the Pearson Hurricane Katrina Disaster Fund with $500,000, and will match all your donations to it or to any other charity you choose that is helping the victims. The Pearson fund will focus on helping students and teachers and schools recover. A committee is set up to make sure we donate in the most effective way.

This image has been very good to me. I'm kind of figuring that since it's been good to me, that maybe now it can do some good for it's own.
This photo was shot in the International Shrine of St. Jude, Our Lady of Guadalupe Chapel, New Orleans, Louisiana across from the St. Louis 1 cemetery. These are thank you plaques to St. Jude for answering the prayers of desperate people who thought all hope was lost.
For a yet-to-be-determined amount of time, I will be selling prints for $25 apiece. $15 of each print will go to hurricane relief. They cost aprox. $6 to print and $4 to ship (USPS priority mail is included in the $25 donation), accounting for the remaining portion. If you're one of my co-workers or friends who I can hand this off to, all but the ink/paper expense will go to into the donation box. Additionally, these prints will be available at the 35th Annual Pilsen East Artist's Open House (The Artwalk).
Donations will go to the American Red Cross with an amount matching your contribution donated by Pearson book publishers.
Prints are on 8.5x11 high-quality archival paper (ILFORD GALERIE, Classic Pearl). They will be shipped via USPS priority mail. My intention is to send these out in weekly batches. Accounting of the donations will be made available through this page.
